XII Mises Seminar – Information
Since 2004, Istituto Bruno Leoni organizes in Sestri Levante, near Genoa, its Mises Seminar, with the aim of gathering a number of promising young scholars and PhD candidates to meet, exchange ideas and offer their contribution to the classical liberal academic world.
During the Seminar some 4-6 young researchers present their own original papers, which are then discussed by a senior scholar and debated by the audience. A number of papers presented in the Mises Seminar were later published in reputable academic journals.

Submitting authors should be younger than 35 years-old.

In this edition the general theme discussed in the submitted essays is open: the topic of liberty will can be investigated from the perspective of law, philosophy, economics, sociology, history, economic history.

Authors are invited to submit their CV and a proposal of about 500 words, in English, to Dr. Carlo Lottieri (carlo.lottieri@brunoleoni.org) not later than April 30th, 2018.

IBL will then select the best submissions and inform the candidates accordingly by May 30th.

Conference papers (max. lenght 40,000 characters, in English) are to be submitted to IBL not later than August 1st 2018.

All travel and boarding expenses of the selected authors will be paid for by Istituto Bruno Leoni.

George Selgin (Director, Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives at the Cato Institute, Washington DC)
Michael S. Greve (Professor of Law, Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University, Arlington, VA)

Dal 2004 il “Seminario Mises” dell’Istituto Bruno Leoni riunisce a Sestri Levante (Genova) a inizio ottobre un impressionante numero di studenti e giovani studiosi, interessati alla teoria liberale e ai primi passi nel mondo della ricerca universitaria.
La formula del “Seminario Mises” enfatizza i contributi originali da parte di giovani studiosi, consentendo loro di presentare le proprie ricerche, affiancati da discussant prestigiosi.
In più di un’occasione i papers presentati al Seminario sono stati successivamente pubblicati in autorevoli riviste scientifiche.

A partire dal 2012, il Seminario Mises assume cadenza biennale.

Il XII Mises Seminar si terrà a Sestri Levante nei giorni 13-14 ottobre 2016.
Il programma del Seminario, che si terrà in lingua inglese, sarà disponibile appena possibile.
